Happy Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday. To celebrate I have put together a short video. It has been a really long time since I made one of these. If you are a member of my family and I missed you this past year, don't worry I will get you next year. Also I didn't have time to put labels on the pictures, so you will just have to guess and enjoy the pictures without knowing what they are.

My mom has finished her chemo and has moved onto radiation. It seems to be going fairly well. She is very hopeful she will finish her treatments in time for a family reunion in July.

Mom I hope you have a nice day. Wish I could be there. Eat some cake for me.

Ya know... as a photographer I am always trying to get that old vintage classic look... and these old pictures already have that charm naturally... it is SOOOO hard to copy!!!

What a great tribute to your mother.

Happy Birthday!

Oh Pat! Thank you so much! That was a very sweet tribute. It brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face (can you do that at the same time?) It was fun to look at photos that have been closed in a book for a long time. I especially like the four generation pictures. What a great heritage we have! I am also glad that over the years we have always taken pictures with all the girls together. It's always a party when we get together!

The picture of me in the pink formal is from when I was in the county beauty pageant. I have to tell you a funny story about my radiation treatment. They have to get my right arm up and out of the way so the prop it up over my head and it rests in a holder that puts in in a position that makes me feel like I am waving. The first thing it thought about was the "pageant queen wave" we had to do when we rode in a parade. So during my treatment if I have to go somewhere else, I close my eyes and pretend I am waving to the adoring fans. In no time at all the treatment is over!

You are a sweetie! I love you! Thanks, Mom

I don't even know any of the people except for you (and the pics of your kids). I loved it! How sweet!

I think I like your mom - between the great pics, the good humored radiation, and just the comment in general I want to wish her a Super Birthday!!!

Okay, that made my eyes sweat. Especially when I read your mom talking about the pageant wave.

The whole thing really made me think about life and how you're just going along and you never know what's around the corner for you.

For all I know I may be laying in radition treatment one day pretending like I'm waving to all my adoring fans.

You get me?
