Slicen N Dyson

As a follow up to this post, I thought you might all enjoy some pictorial evidence of just what I was talking about.

Here is my sad little 18 year old vacuum. Ready to go to the big vacuum graveyard in the sky. Notice how he has even lost one of his wheels and the excessive duct tape all over him. I wonder if families are duct taped together forever, will vacuums be duct taped to us forever as well. Hmmm.

After I wrote that post the other day, I decided that I would go out and get a brand new vacuum that very day. No more waiting. And so I got this hot little number. Isn't she cute? Her color just screams sunny disposition. And we all know how I love screaming.

My dad asked if she was sucking up to her new owner. Ha ha ha, Dad, that's a good one. And I am glad to report that she is. I came right home from the store and started cleaning. It probably won't last long, but it is fun to play with new toys. And like my husband always says, the right tool for the right job always makes things easier.

Oh and the best part of it, is that it was the floor model and so I paid $150 less than one in a box would be. I don't need a box that costs $150 and it is still covered by the 5 year warranty, so all should be well. The sales man said to me as I was leaving "Now you can be slicen n dyson." I love punny salesmen.
But then some sibling rivalry broke out. It was kind of mean and nasty.
In one corner we have the Grey Inhaler and the other the Yellow Suctionator. They go at each other like it was a proffesional wrestling match.

It wasn't long before the Yellow Suctionator Dyson pinned the Grey Inhaler, cannister Kenmore.

Here is the Dyson in her victorious Rocky like post. Can you just hear the Rocky Music playing?

And so here is the Kennmore waving a sad good bye as he waits for the garbage man to come and take him to the dump. Maybe he will make some new friends there. Or better yet maybe get a role in a disney or star wars movie. Number 5, alive. Anyone remember that movie?

I remember that movie! I used to love it and so when my brother in law lent it to me to watch again (after 10 years of not seeing it) I jumped for joy! Then I watched it. I missed A LOT of the little things that are in it when I was a kid. I'm kind of glad, actually.
I like the new vacuum...hopefully this one will last as long as the last one did! :)

Welcome to the world of Dyson chicks. Once you Dyson, you can never go back!

Your old inhaler reminds me of the Brave Little toaster movies. There was a year of my life they were on every day.

A few years ago after much vacuum-cleaner-drama/disappointment, I bought a fab floor model too...only mine was a Kenmore Canister!!

And I must say I love it. Because it's new. (Or was new...) What is it about "new" anyway that makes it synonomous with "fun"?

Happy vacuuming!

I'm impressed. I usually buy the cheapest and use it even after it's stopped working. My mom used it recently and informed me the bag was full... I thought I had the bagless kind.
If you're still in the practicing mood, you can come over to my house and try it out!

My mom goes in for her second chemo treatment today. She is doing well under the circumstances.

What can I say. That fight between the vacuums was so funny and well staged! What a relief that there wasn't a surprise punch to lay the Dyson low! How embarassing would that be! I like yellow too. Very cheerful! You can sing Scatter Sunshine all the time you are cleaning. That should cheer everyone up!

I just returned from chemo. It went well. They have tweaked my anti-nausea drugs a little and I think that I actually feel better now than last time. I know that this is just the lull before the storm when the drugs get all the way through me kick me to the ground, or the sofa actually. But I know it's not forever and will pass. I'm hanging in there! Got lots of love and support! And you know what? Cancer sucks too!
Thanks for providing my good belly laugh for the day!

K, so yes we all remember that movie, but I can't handle the not mentioning it's name, so I'll take care of that and say I loved watching Short Circuit as a kid...

So there it is... have a fun day! ;^)
