I Heart Elder Uchtdorf

Dear Elder Uchtdorf,

Thank you so much for speaking with me tonight. I appreciate the time you took giving me your words of compassion, comfort, and cheer. How did you know that was exactly what I needed to hear. Because of you, I will go on trying and working and most of all serving others. I even think that advice would be awesome and helpful to my son. I will look for ways he can help others as well. I wanted you to know what a difference you made, in case you couldn't tell.

Thanks again for being there for me,

Love, Sister Hammond

p.s. I can cook fried eggs also, and sometimes I burn my french bread, I feel a special bond with you now, but not in a scary, stalker kind of way, so don't worry.

Seriously, Elder Uchtdorf is awesome, and I too can cook fried eggs, and more often than not my bread is burnt, trust me... Christopher is now in charge of bread at our house. :)

Pat,

I also know that much of his talk was for you, and me and the rest of RS. At our meeting, they talked about the importance of indexing online and the need for more people to do it. They pointed out how much teenagers love to do it and the blessings that flood the homes of those who serve this way. Does your stake participate? I am going to sign up to do it. I will let you know how it went.

I too, heart Pres Uchtdorf. Just a few weeks before he was called as an apostle, he came to our stake as the GA for our Stake Conference and we got to meet him there. One of the sisters in my ward told us the story of how she got to go to lunch with him because of her husband's calling and that she ended up sitting across from him for the meal. She said "he is such an atractive man, I just couldn't stop staring at him through the whole meal, he is just dreamy." She then went on to teach a TFOT lesson from one of his talks.

I was telling Jessica this story as they introduced him last night and we chuckled. But as he spoke and his words truly inspired me, I realized that his amazing spirit is part of what my friend was describing. He has such a great ability to convey our Heavenly Father's love that you just can't help but feel like trying harder, knowing that there hope. Anyway, sorry this is so long, but I too heart Elder Uchdorf.
